MLB Season Begins! Baseball’s 5 Best Smiles
Major League fever has been alive and well for the past couple months here in the valley, and now, it’s time for the regular season! In celebration of the beginning of another great season of baseball, we’ve compiled a list of Major League Baseball’s five brightest smiles. Go Dbacks!
David Robertson
Formerly a reliever for the Yankees, Robertson is now on the White Sox squad, and on top of having a great smile, he and his wife Erin started a charity called “High Socks for Hope” that aids victims of the 2011 tornado that hit his home state of Alabama. He donates $100 for every strikeout he gets.
José Bernabé Reyes
Hailing from the Dominican Republic, Reyes now calls Toronto his home, where he plays shortstop for the Blue Jays. On top of having a big smile, Reyes led the National League in stolen bases for three consecutive years (2005-2007).
Torii Hunter
Known for his charisma as well as his dazzling smile, this Tigers outfielder has won nine Golden Glove awards in his 15 year tenure in the major leagues.
Justin Maxwell
This Giants center fielder has a special advantage in this category. Both of his parents are dentists in Maryland, where he grew up and played college ball.
Ozzie Smith
Although he retired from professional baseball back in the 90s, Smith’s smile is so legendary that it bears remembering. Known for his charm and acrobatics (his backflip still makes highlight reels often), “the wizard” played shortstop for the St. Louis Cardinals and was selected for the all-star game fifteen times. In 2002, he was inducted into the baseball hall of fame, which was the first year he was eligible.
Be sure to get out and cheer on the Diamondbacks this year!
